Faculty and Staff
The Shire School staff are committed to creating an environment that challenges students to realize their full potential and become the individuals they are meant to be. Staff are versed in multi-sensory approaches to learning and hold Master's Degrees or have extensive experience in autism or related fields. The Shire School has an onsight curiculum coordinator with over 25 years of experience in teaching children with learning disabilities. She provides instructional support to staff and helps assess students and develop their individualized education plans.
In addition, we work closely with Building Blocks Therapy. Students receive weekly group therapies from a Speech Therapist and an Occupational Therapist on site. These therapists are also available for individual student plans. We welcome professionals working with individual students to collaborate with the staff and school regarding the student's development.

The Shire School is a board directed, non-profit school incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
